Water Supply Committee.
, A meeting of the Committee was held at the Council Chambers this morning. Present—Messrs Speight (in the chair), Brodie, Price, and Brassey. The Secretary said the following tele' gram re the Committee's power to lease
the supply had been received from the| Hon. the Attorney-General. I The Chapman said that the only thing! to do, if the County would not give way,! was to wind up, and give their creditors! notice. I
Mr E. Onyon offered to take over the right of supplying water to Shortland Wharf, and pay for three months of Captain Butt's term. It was decided to ac cept Mr Onyon's offer. It was resolved to sue for all outstanding accouiis.
Mr Brassey moved that this meeting be adjourned for a week. Carried. This concluded the business.
