Rifle Camp (Nelson), Monday. The seventeenth match began directly after dinner to-day. There were 114: entries, the ranges being 400, 500, and 600 yards. Ifc was 5.30 when the second range was completed, and the match will be concluded to-morrow morning. An early start will be made with the eighteenth match, which, it is hoped, will be finished by dinner-time. After that a rapidity match for the prize offered by Mr Hunter Browne, and other prizes given by the association, will follow. The men will fall in at a point between the 600 and 500 yards ranges, and fire for 90 seconds, and then advance to a point between the 500 and 400 yards' ranges and fire as many shots as possible, [the whole time allowed being 3 minutes. jThis includes the time taken in advance I ing from ope range to the other.
! There are yet the two small-bore [matches with upwards of 90 entries it leach, and a consolation match.
