Friday. The brethren of the Sciende Lodge last night subscribed £35 towards the .Kaitangata Belief Ftirid. The Working Men's Dramatic Club announce an entertainment in aid of the funds.
Very heavy rain has been falling to-day to the rejoice of everyone. It is understood that Wi Fere a Gisborne chief,, will contest the East Coast Maori electorate on behalf of the Governf ment, and will be strongly supported by those natives who approve of Mr Bees' action in regard to native^ land disputes.
