INSUBANCBj*** The insurance policy ori the Hospital having expired it was resolved to reinsure in the office giving the best terms. fe OLD MAN'S BIFUCJE.

The President said ther,e was one matter he wished to bring before the committee. They Would remember the deputation waiting on Mr Sheehan, and his promise—£3so or £4Co—for an Old Men's Refuge. This money had been placed in MrPuckey'a hands, and as soon as a voucher was given him that the work was done the money would be handed over to the committee. This money, however, could not be expended on land; it must be spent for buildings. They had now a piece of land purchased with a vote of £280 from the Borough Council, on which they had applied to Government for a subsidy of £1 for £1. The Key. S. J. Neill asked if these sums would be sufficient to'establish the Refuge. ■. ' ..... The President thought it would bo belter to wait till the Charitable Aid Committee Of the Council was on the Committee, fie might inform them that the money in Mr Puckey's hands would have to be expended before the end of June, otherwise tbe vote lapsed. Mr Davies thought they had gone out of their depth in taking over the Refuge. Mr Benshaw pointed put to Mr Davies that the Council had asked them to do so. The Government would contribute one-half the cost, and the CouncU the rest so that the committee had no financial responsibility. After some further discussion it was resolved, on the motion of Mr J. Hudson, that the standing sub-committee wait on the Charitable Aid Committee wiih a view of devising means to expend the vote. Tb;s concluded the business. -
