(Rifle Range), Tuesday.

The shooting began at 9 a.m. The four hundred yards of the first match was started by one half the squad, who have just completed the match. The other four squads take up the same ranges after dinner. The result so far is—Okey, of Taranaki, 70; Faynter, of Nelson (the present champion), 69; Moore, of Auckland, 68; W. Eallinger, of Wellington, 67; Monk, of Wellington, 66; Bowden, of Auckland, 66. After dinner the squads who have finished the first match will commence the second and third, both matches running concurrently. There are 111 entries for the second match, and 43 for the third. Later. To-day's shooting began at 9 a.m. The 400 yards range of. the First March was started by one half of the squad. Shoot* ing in the same Match was resumed after dinner and continued till about 6 o'clock. These two matches were ten shots each at 200 yards, and count towards the Champion Belt. These matches will be resumed to-day. The Filth aid Sixth Matches will be commenced after breakfast, and are expected to last all day.
