The last division of profits took place in 1874, and the cash surplus then divided amounted to £235,000, giving additions to policies averaging £3 per cent, per anuum oh the sum assured. The bonuses paid on policies becoming cluimi have varied from £15 per cent, on the sum assured for a policy of five years' standing to £150 pee cent, for one of twenty-five years' duration. Bonuses become vested additions to policies when they have been full five years in force.
