NELSON.
Wednesday.
A miner named Augustus Cederewell had his leg smashed by a rolling log at Anator. Hi* mates carried him to Colling wood, a distance of forty miles, over the_ roughest country in the colony, and then took him sixty miles in a boat to Nelson. The whole journey occupied 54 hours. Their names are : W. Welsh, W. Humphries, Greo. Gibson, H. Harvey, and J. Linson. It is hoped the man's leg will be saved.
Mr Adams, M.H.E., gives his supporters a champagne lunch on Friday, to celebrate the triumph of the cause of secular education.
