As a hißthev elucidation of the matter, Mr Bosisto wrote again to the same paper, and his letter w»s published us follows on the sih August, 1876 :—" Sir—"With reference to the reply by Messrs Sander and Sons, contained m jours of the Ist instant, to mine of ihe 31st lilt., I deem it tut right to say «but I desire in no spirit of rivalry lo wrte oicparaginjilv of, or to Be. 1; to duti-iiorate from, ilie quality of the 'new industry.' , ITS PRESENT POSITION. Thus far the correspondence thows the nature and character ol Euraljplus Oil, and the steps by which it hus airived of the puii'y ol Sander and Sons tuanulauiure. It; order that iheir oil eluulii be ie»ud by the mott approved and rigorous scrutiny, bander und.Soi.B hare firwarued samples to all the principal medical authorities of the Colonies, us well as to scientific bodl Bin Jmrojje. By the fcteaii'Cr Soinersrlfchire, which It-ft tlie Colony on the 20ih September, 1876, Messrs Sander and Soup, hti\iug recsived buuh v flutleriDg ttsUnjfuial iitrni Gennau stieiitiets, deepatchid a parcel of their essence to their agents, Messrs iloclzle and Cliehus, of Frankfurt, with instructions to that firm to bring it under the notice of—The Emperor ot (ieruiany, the King of Bavaria, the EmpeVor of Auntria, the King of Saxony, the King of Wurtemburg, and Prince Bisuiarck. through these eovereigiis and potentates, the Aueirslian Extract will find its way before most of the principal Jf uropeau Bcientific bodiex. In addition to this the Kucalyptus esseuco of Messrs Sander and Sons will be biought under the notice of the South Australian faculty through the columns of the German paper published in that Colony. In this Colony it lias been placed before the authorities ot the Melbourne Hospital, Ballarat Hoppita), Geelong UospUal, Castlemaine Hofpita), Kyuelou Hospital, uud Sandhurst idospital. In addition to these means of spreading a knowledge of this excellent article to tne public at large, the Press, as will be shown below, has lent its valuable aid to theiurlherauce of the object sought.
ITS CHARACTER. - The oil may be almost summed up as to i<s character when it, is described as etberic and volatile. It is a condensation of those exhalations of the gum leaves which permeate our Austral atmosphere, and make it one of the most boaltb-eustainiijg character in the uniTerße. The oil,. beiDg a principle of iigell, cannot in the strict g«nse be analysed, because it is incapable of tub-divisioa. The only proof ot its being a pure etheric essence is its rolubilit.y in spirits of wine. But medical authoritirs who have chemically examined the components of the gum, and of ihis oil, declare lhat it contains much tdat ftiuiultites the vital panicles ol the humun blood and that, increaces the health-giving functions ul the common air. One of tiie bent features in its clmructer is Mint it absolutely tequircs no care iv its use, but i)my be rubbed on external sores, taken intirualJy, exposed to the common Htmosphere until it is abt><irbrd,or joured on fine linen or *he most delio'tely tinjed paper, wit hour Laving so much as a stain behind. Iv short, while it is in t-o iimvy casrs tx'reniely benefici&l iv i:s use, it is alfijlutely innocuous in all.
ITS CLAIM AS A CURAIIVE. It has now become the fashion with the in ventors or discoverers of remedial agents to claim something little short of inlallibiiiy and universality of euro for their respective agents. Messrs Sander uud Swiib <o nothing of the eort. They have confidence that their oil possesses unmy virtues ; but the full extent of these lh»y do noi know jet. They Sre row collectirig duia, and they uro most careful and searching in performing this. It is qtrie *ure then, that iheir eucalyp'i oil can fairly aesert itself to be a grand panacea fur v.any of the ilia that fleth is heir to. In Scarlet, Typhoid, or any cane of Fever, nohing vull protect betler against coulagion than a few drops of the oil poured in the palm of the hand, and rubbed in, in order to liberate tbe vapors, or sprinkled over the clothes. The perfume will be noticed for a great length of time. For Children Attending Schools, the some mode iK&j be adopted. In Cases of Sicki<e*s, a few drops put into a eutieer, and put into the room will, being an etheric oil, evapcrate, and fill the room with the purifying vapor. Are you obliged to Travel! A few drops occasionally rubbed on the body, will protect against any contagion you may be exposed to, in coming in direct contact with sick persons,
