Retorting for the fortnight took place, at the company's mill on Saturday for the return of 17lozs gold. 'This is the produce of 236 tons of quartz. Driving in the Point Russell section was commesoed today. During last week the driving 'operations in the tunnel were commenced, but as only one shift was the progress made was slow. The manager'sweekly report is as follows: Point Russell section.—Xhe timbering of rise is completed, the two ladder-passes lined, and ladders fixed in centre pass. All is now in working order, and the hone, can take trucks direct from the shoots. A fair start will be made in driving on Monday.
