Bixon's lode, has split into i;hree sec* tions—eadh carrying gold—'and in stoping upon the same a parcel of specimens has lately been accumulated. In the Whau level the manager will shortly commence stoping at bottom lerel both to east and west of No. 3 winze. The lode shows gold freely. At the 70 feet level the lode is two feet thick and looks well. , ''
Retorting took place at J;he Herald mill last night for the Very fair return of 37O|ozs gold. This, is the, product of about 320' tors of genwal dirt^'and one •sad a-half hundred weight of picked stone. Thig return- on being added to the 92fozs from the Moanatairi mill
makes the total month's return 463iozs. This f yield is.-,considerably larger than last month's, though the amount of stuff put through is less. On being melted at the Bank of Now Zealand to-day the gold was reduced to 454ibzs gold.
