The Chairman of the outgoing committee read the' following report:—;
Tour Committee have to report that during the past year the school baa been maintained in a state of efficiency under the superintendence of the head matter, Mr Compt on. The average attendance for the year being 68£, while the same attendance for the previous year being 70£, showing a Blight falling off during the past year. The school buildings and fittings have been kept in good order and repair ; the Board of Education granting an adequate sum for the erection of new ofhces, which were urgently required. Tour Committee during the past year have made application to the Board of Education for an allowance to the head master in lieu of house accommodation, but the application was refused. Tbey would suggest to the incoming committee that this application should be renewed, or better still, that the Board of Education be asked to erect a matter's house on the school allotment. This would be a convenience to the master, and be a protection to the school property, serious damage being done to the school during the past year from evil-disposed persons. Your Committee have received no complaints during the year, and the conduct of the children has been good. The capitation allowance received from the Board of Education has been adequate for the petty expenses incurred 1 by your Committee, and enabled them to purchase a filter for the use of the scholars. The balance-sheet of the receipts and expenditure will be laid before you. A letter has been received from the Board of Education asking your Committee to consider the question of amalgamating the Farawai with the Eauaeranga district;. but this Committee were unanimous that it was not desirable to amalgamate Parawai with any other district. Owing to the liberality of the resident homeholders jour Committee were enabled to distribute prizes to the children, aud afford them the usual treat at, the Christines vacation. In conclusion your Committee have to thank Mr Compton, Miss Bennett and Miss Macky for their attention and management of the school during the year.—For. the' Commiljee,, THOif AS SPWfOBB, Chairman.
