A definite result is now expected. Sydney, January 23. Armed: Tbes.s. Easby. The Bulli coal mine look out dispute will probably be settled next week. News from Brisbane adrises the total failure of the Melbourne expedition to New Guinea. The whole party were prostrated with ferer, and four died. News from Hongkong states that a disastrous fire occurred there. Ten acres and a-half of buildings were destroyed, including the civil hospital and police barracks. Loss estimated at two hundred thousand pounds., 1 Sydney, January 22. News from Guinea states that Mr Ingham, the Queensland Government resident on Thursday Island, and the crew of the steamer Youra hare been murdered by natives. Bkisbanb, January 22. A missionary named McFarlane has visited the scene of Ingham's murder. He learned that three < whites, three Kanakas, and one Cbinanun were killed A son of Canon Irvin, of London, wat one of the victims.
