THIS DAY. (Before H.O. Lairlor and E. F. Tizard, Esqs., J's.P.) TTANDBBING GOATS. Eebecca Wilson and Samuel Martin were fined 2s and 3a respectirely, for permitting goats to wander at large within the Borough. LABCBNT. Henry Artha was charged with stealing a quantity of peaches of the ralue of Is, the property of Matiu Foona. Defendant pleaded guilty. He said two bigger boys were with him at the time. v
Mr Kenny stated that this lad had been caught by the Maories, and the two other boys escaped. As he had been locked up all yesterday, and he suffered very much, fie asked that he be leniently dealt with. The Bench cautioned the defendant, and discharged him. Court adjourned.
