MOANATAIRI.
The battery continues crushing for the company, Alburnia and tributers. The manager expects to break through between the winze and the Point Eussell section this week. The following is a copy of the mine manager's usual weekly report:—" Point Eussell section—Good progress is being made in the rise and winze, and from the distance and sound I think about 15 feet more will break through. This will be during next week. 218 feet level— South cross-cut is extended 80 feet or about half the distance to strike No., 9 reef. There is nothing of importance elsewhere for me to report. During the holidays the battery has been thoroughly overhauled sea-boxes and valves put in order, and various other work done. The full force of the battery was started again on Wednesday last—2s head of stampers on our own stuff, 10 head for Alburnia Company, and 5 head for Thomas's tribute.—l remain, yours, <fee, Robert Comeb."
