(Special to Pbbss Agency..) London, January 6. Ellison, implicated in the Avoca gold robbery, baa been discharged, the Law Officer of the Crown, being of opinion that as the warrant had been issued for an offence on the high seas, though it might have been charged as committed in Melbourne, the Victorian Government have not exclusive jurisdiction to justify a demand for Ellison's surrender. Lewis, who prosecuted, does not intend to rearrest Ellison. The magistrate (Vaughan) observed that Weiberg's evidence was inadequate.
