" STAMP ACT, 1875." : TRANSFERS OF SHARES. IT is herebj notified, that, after the lit 01. January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps 1 upon Trai sfers of Shares ia compulsory, but transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or • Deputy Commissioner within one month after execution without a fiae. Managers and Secretaries q& Companies Sharebrekers, and oihers interested, arere« - commended to forward, without delay, suoh forms of transfer as they may require to be" impressed, accompanied by the usual requisition and receipt from the Bank of New Zea* land for amount thereof, less the authorized discount. Information may be obtained at any Stamo Office. . ■ V The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— . . i" "47. (1.) Except where express provision is mane to the contrary, all.duties «re to be denoted by impressed stumps only.'* ■ " 102. No transfer of any share, or share* of or in the stock or funds of any cotporation, company, or society whatever in New ftjeland shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company, or society, unless sued transfer is duly stamped* " 103. No instrument of sale or transfer at any share or shares shall be valid, either at law or in equity, unless the name of the pur*' chaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the exeo P fcion of the instrtt ment of sale or transfer % and, if any person: executes a sale»note, transfer, oontraot-note, or other instrument of sale or transfer, in any! manner, or for any purpose, whatsoever, uu* less the name of the purchaser, is inserted therein at the tune or before the execution' thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not leas than £20 or more than £100 } and, if any such instrument is so made or signed, it shall be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall in no case be made available by the insertion of a name or any other particulars' afterwards; and the person selling or trans* ferring such share shall not be divested of his interest therein, but shall remain liable, thereon as if he had never sold or disposed ol the same. And if such person is a> lioemsed sharebroker, his license shall, on any opajriotion under ihis section, be absolutely fori feited, and he shall not thereafter be qualified to act as a broker, or' to have a fresh lioense issued to him. - "104.
