TRANSFERS OF SHARES. 1T is hereby notified, that, after the lit ot 1 January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamps upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory, bat transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month after execution without a fiae. Managers and Secretaries of Companies Sharebrekers, ,and ethers interested, are re- < commended to forward, without delay, such forms of transfer, as they may require to be impressed, accompanied by the uaual requisi- . lion and receipt Irom the Bank of New Zealand for amount thereof, less the authorised 6 discount. : Information may be obtained at any Stamp Office.' The provisions of the Act relating hereto are as follow:— " 47. (1.) Except where express provision is marie to the contrary, all duties ore to be denoted by impressed sumps only." •' 102. ,JSo transfer of any share or shares of or, in the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or emend in the books of such corporation, company, or society,,unless sued transfer is duly stamped. ",103. No instrument of sale or transfer ot any ihare or shares shall be valid, either at law or jn equity, unless,the name of the purchaser or transferee it inserted therein at the time of or before the exec'-P tion of the instru ment ot'sale or transfer ; and, if any person executes » sale-note, transfer, contract-note, ''* or other.initrument of sale or transfer, in any manner, or for any purpose whatsoever, on* less, |the-name of the purchaser is inserted ' therein^ at, the time or before the execution thereof; he shall forfeit a sum of not less than ' £20 or more than £100; and, if any such instrument, is so made or signed, it "Nfli be wholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall m no case be made available by the insertion of a name or any other particulars afterwards; and, the person selling or trans* , femng'fluch share shall not be divested of bis interest therein, but shall remain liable thereon as if he had never sold or disposed ot the same.
