(Eeutkk's Special to^C^«s«->a^ei ?c .^V LatfooN, December 25. The KheAVve of Egypt's Palace at Abdive was partially destroyed by fire. T^bere has been a destructive fire at Hongkong. It lasted two days. There was great destruction of property.
- The Northam, from London, .bound to Sydney, has been completely destroyed by fire. The' crew and passengers were saved.
A message from-the Governor of Cape Colony asks Ceteways to disarm, disband army and cede. Saint Lucia Bay, and receive resident at Court.
A Greek Commission has been appointed for the ratification of the frontier. Yakoob Khan has arrived at Jellallabad. It is regarded as a sign of submission. December 29th. At a meeting of the Sydney Exhibition Committee it was announced that a large number of German and Austrian exhibitors had applied for space for the forthcoming exhibition. The French Government inserted in the Budget one hundred and fifteen thousand francs to assist exhibitors. The San Francisco mail has arrived, and was delivered on the twenty-fourth.
