Frank Valpy, late a clerk in the Steward of Reserves office, Christchuvch Railway, was arrested on a warrant charged with embezzling the sum of £6 4s, though it was stated the amount of his defalcrticns was £165. He was broueht up this morning and remanded till Tuesday. This day. The most disgusting,case of indecency that ever came befo:."f)-the Court was on to-day. The prisoner, named Eugene McLaren, was re:nanded. . The question of hospital and charitable, aid has been refei red to a select committee l;o consider the whole and bring up a repoit, as it is felt that the expense is much greater than it ought to be. '
