Friday. The last rail in Mr Proudfoot's contract

of the Balclutba to Clinton line was laid this afternoon. An engine with one carriage from Clinton arrived at Balclutha station at 4 o'clock. Of course, ballast and fittings are required before it will be ready for traffic.
