The Not Zealand School Song.

Some six months ago Mr Grigg offered a prize for singing to the pupils of the Kauaeranga Girls' School,' and it was competed for on St. Andrew's Day/ Mrs JNeill and Mr Grigg ac ting as judges. Twenty-five girls had entered their, names, but did not all attend. The competitors were allowed to select' any of the songs they had learned by .ear in the school. The examination was conducted something after the fashion of a " bed," so that the prize-taker had to sing several songs. .The award fell to Miss Annie Lovatt, and the second in order of merit being a very young child (Emily Brown), Miss Haselden kindly intimated her intention of giving her a prize also. Each of these young ladies have contented to sing a solo at the breaking up to-morrow, one of the songs being "My Own JNew Zealand j Home," the words and music of which were written by Mr Grigg several years j siqca, and has been sung publicly by the whole of the school on various occasions. We have been favored with a copy of the words, which we append.
