Did not then.see *&**] sores on it. Went down to the Thames'! to get a coroner to come up. The l\rerj stable keeper at the Thames- (Sfr, NichoiU) pointed out the sores when he.: went to get the horse for the purpose off returning, and said that the horse wa»not r in a fit state to be saddled. ' Mr Bullen r afterwards saw the horse, and ordered ,witness to return by steamer, and to leatfft ' the horse in a paddock. It was by Mr Bullen's instructions that the infotnatioa : was laid. '-. ,'.i Defendant, in reply to the Court, said that he thought the horse was. all right* He had been put to great expense, having ' bad io go to the Thames tor the horse, and to pay paddock fees. , .
The Court held that the Coostable'a evidence was not direct. He had got hie information from Mr Nicholas and fcubInspector Bullen. Under (the - Ciroum> stances, he would dismiss the case, but he warned the defendant that he had narrowly escaped a £20 fine. DBUNK AND INCIPATO*.--' -' •-
