, All the preliminary works necessary to the extension of the 218 feet level are now completed, and a start' has been, made at.driring. - There is no change in!' the Point Kutsell section. The: following! is a copy of the mine manager's usual weekly report:—''.There in no change to mention in the Point Russell rise, and good progress is being made in sinking the winze abore. The country is easier, with but little water, and there is no change in reef since last reported. . Engine shaft.—The chamber &c, at 218 feet, level is all completed, and a well sunk 8 feet below. I have now let a contract for driving 30 feet at 17s 6d to carry a double line of rails so as to give facilities for.' trucking, &c. I am pleased to say the water here has greatly fallen off. . The drive west on No. 2 reef at 80 feet level has been suspended, and the men put to stoping. This reef has not turned but well, the stuff being poor. 150 feet level.—The footwall branch of No. 9 reef has been intersected and is not of a promising character ; the stopes above are also poor, in fact, the stuff from all parts of the mine is at present of unusually low grade. The battery is fully engaged in crushing tributers' parcels before Christ* mas. —Eobt. Comeb."

McKea and party hare finished a crushing of 42 tons for the yield of 27|ota, of gold.

Tierney and party completed their crushing to-day lor the yield of 88om 7dwts gold.
