— Wednesday. The Governor does not approve of Ihe judgment of the Court in the s.s. Taupo case, and consequently the certificates of the captain and first mate will be returned to them.
At a meeting of the Chamber of Commerce this afternoon a resolution was carried to the effect that the Government should retain a sufficient portion of the reclaimed land for the purpose of a more central site for the railway station, and the secretary was instructed to .communicate with the Government, requesting to know what steps the Government would take to have this colony properly represented at the International Exhibition in Sydney.' - Up to the present time efforts to save the cargo of the Southminster have been very successful.
