TRANSFERS OF SHARES. ■ IT is hereby notified, that, after the let at A January 1876, the use of Impressed Stamp* upon Transfers of Shares is compulsory; but transfers of shares may be stamped at a Stamp i Office by the Commissioner or a Deputy Commissioner within one month, after exeou* fcon without a fine. No transfer of any share or shareeof or in the stock or funds of any corporation, company, or society whatever in New Zealand shall be registered, recorded, or entered in the books of such corporation, company, or society, unless such transfer is bTulystamped. No instrument of sale or transfer 6c any share or share* shall be valid,'either at law or in equity, unless the name of the buri' chaser or transferee is inserted therein at the time of or before the exeo p tion of the instrument of tale or transfer ; and, -if any person 7 executes a «ale»npte f! tran»fer,.oonta»ot.iiote,! or other instrument of sale or transfer, in ailf manner, or 1 for any, purpose whatsoever, unit less the name of the purchaser is inserted therein at the time or, before the,execution thereof, he shall forfeit a sum of not leu than £20 or more than £100} and, if any- Mich* instrument is so made or signed, it ahall bewholly and absolutely void and inoperative, and shall m no case be made available by the? insertion of a name or any other particular*' afterwards,- and the persensellingwtran*; ferring such share shall not be divested of hi* interest therein, but shall remain titbiV thereon as if he had; never sold or disposed ot the same.
