In the second innings of the AngloAustralian eleven the following scores were made -.—Murdoch, 40; Bannerman, 24 ; Bannerman, 42 ; Blackhatn, 24; ,Horan,,s6; Gregory, 24; Garrett, 12; Boyle, 33. When the second man went out the board showed 84. Immense excitement. Five wickets went down for 160. The seventh wicket fell to 248. Spofforth was ill, and no substitute had been appointed for Bailey. The Fifteen won in one innings, with 15 runs to spare. Tuesday. Foley and Newton fought for 70 minutes. The fight was severe, but was undecided, though both were much punished. The police interfered.
The Government is asking Parliament for £50,000 for the Exhibition. Considerable anxiety was felt for thesafety of the steamer You Yangs, expected from Brisbane with many passengers. She had been long overdue, and was unreported on the coast. Today, however, the You Yangs arrived, having experienced stormy weather, which con* siderably delayed her. ' ■
