Water Supply Committee.
The usual monthly meeting of this Committee was held at the Borough Council Chambers last evening. Present —Messrs Ehrenfried (iii the chair), Speight, Brassey, and Price. MINUTES. The minutes,of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. . complaint. A- letter was read from Mr E. C. Morgan with reference to his letter of complaint against the Turncock, read at last meeting. He. had noticed in the newspaper report that Mr denied using insolent language. He enclosed - the receipt for L.s r_te. | THE OVEBDBAFT. A letter was read from the manager of the Bank of New-Zealand, asking the Committee to request the guarantors for the temporary overdraft to pay up. It was resolved to forward a copy of the letter to the Bordngh and County Councils and Parawai Highway, Board. APPLICATIONS FOE WATEK ; A letter was read from the residents of Block sa, and also one from the residents of Broad street, asking that a pipe be laid so that they could take the water in. It was resolved 'to lay the pipe, provided that those signing the requisition pay half a year's rates in advance. ... A letter was received.from several residents near the New Caledonia Hotel, asking for a pipe, and it was resolved to comply with the request under the same terms as sent to the other applicants. Several accounts were then passed for payment, and the meeting adjourned.
