AUCKLAND.

This day

A fire broke out in the house of Mr Xeesing, junr., lower Hobson street, this morning. The house was totally destroyed, but a portion of the furniture Was saved. The house of Mr Pilkingfon, 20 yards district, had a narrow escape, the shingles taking fire, but the flamei were extinguished. Keesing's house was insured for £300 and mortgaged for £400. The loss is estimated at nearly £1000.
