Hospital Demonstration.

MEETING OF DELEGATES. !■

A meeting of the delegates of.' the Friendly Societies appointed to carry out the demonstration in aid of the Hospital was held at Mr E. Honiss' office last evening. Present—Messrs Cooper and Gentles, Loyal Waikato Lodge; Messrs Johns, Foy, and Berry, Loyal Charles Bruce Lodge ; Messrs Wilson, Heron and Schofield, Court Pride of Parnell; Messrs Ahier and Pearce, Court Pride of the North; Messrs Danby, Nodder, and Eowe, 1.0.tt.; Messrs Kitchiug, K. T. Douglas, and 8u11.P.A.F.5.; Mr Noonan, H.A.C.B.S.

Mr Wilson was voted to the chair. 1 • A letter was read from the Hospital Committee stating- that they would guarantee to provide i&O for priz& "for ■ports. Sereral present 'considered that that "sum was not sufficient, "and thought that whatever the Hospital Committee collected for the sports should be handed, over to the sports committee., Mr Frater (who entered) guaranteed £35 for prizes on behalf of the Hospital Committee, and this sum was considered satisfactory. Offers from the proprietors of tbe Farawai and Tararu Gardens for the use of the Garden* were received. Mr Bennett's offer was to give the Gardens for. £10, reserving only fhe right t) sell strawberries in one booth. He also guaranteed, to give .£5 towards sports should the Committee deem it desirable to give prizes for quoits, horizontal -bar performance, etc.. , Mr Spencer offered Farawai Gardens for £20, reserving the right to sell strawberries, the shooting gallery and cottage.* Mr Bennett's offer was accepted by 11 to 4. It was decided, on the motion: of Mr Noonan, that the price of admission to the Gardens be—Men, Is; women,* or children over 12, 6d; and children under 12 free. The following were elected a sports committee : Messrs Wilson, Johns,' Douglas, Heron, Schofield, Fearce, Moore . andNoonan. • Mr S. Schofield was elected ' marshal of the procession. A booths committee to decide on the number of booths, and. see after the disposal of the same, were then elected, viz., Messrs Bull, Ahier and Landers. It was resolved to invite all looal bands to Join,in the procession and assist at Demonstration. Lots were then drawn for order of prece- i dence in the prooessioh, with the follow* ing result, the order to be reversed going i home:-Ist,lO-0.F.; 2nd,H.A.C.8.5.; 3rd, I.O.B.; 4th, P.A.F.S.; sth, A.O.F. It was resolved, on the taption of Mr Schofield, that the Demonstration be held on Boxing Day, the 26th proximo, and in event of rain; that it be postponed to New Year's Day, and that the rendezvous be Bichmond street, at nine in the morning. The Juvenile Lodges' will follow the parent societies. The "meeting was then adjourned till next Friday week at 8 p.m., and a vote of thanks to tbe chairman concluded the meeting.
