Monday. j The Agent-General telegraphs that he has despatched the ship Western Monarch with 360 immigrants for the Bluff, and the Northern Monarch with 146 for Timaru and 220 for Lyttelton. It is expected the Premier will leave Wellington for the Xawau on Wednesday- "•'■-■;"■•/ ■' .; ■■' r;J
A deputation. from the Chamber ,of Commerce waited upon the Premier today regarding the establishment of a Sailors' Home', a' steam tug, connected with the pilot service, and other less important matters. Nothing definite has been settled. The Premier promised to have the matters looked into^ ■
The' Divorce Court opened to-day. There were eight cases on the list, several for decree absolute and rule nisi. • The greater portion of the day was occupied over the Wellington case of George v. George. The wife is the petitioner, on the ground of cruelty -and adultery. In the case of Woolcock t. Woolcock and , Wardell (of Greymouth) a decree absolute was granted. . ,
