THE WEEK.
The week has not been prolific of any events out of the ordinary course in mining matters. Another small patch has been discovered in the Alburnia mine in the battery level, bat so far it has had no effect on the sharemarket. The Queen of Beauty is looking about the same as last week, and all the other mines are in what may be called their normal state, as they have been in a similar condition for the past few months, The County Council has at last put their design of gelling the Big Pump securities into execution, having engaged Mr W. Errington to derise means for disposing of them. It is generally understood that a com.)
pany or association of some kind is to be floated to purchase the securities, but some are inclined to think that the companies whose mines are the securities for the £50,000 advanced by the Government! will endeavor to buy them. It is a matter for congratulation that of late the Kuranui Hill tribute sections have been producing well. These tributes supply work to a large number of men, and their getting gold will help to make things a little lively at Christmas.
