OHINEMURI.

(fbok oub own cobbbspondent.)

Pakboa, November 6.

The Rev. B. 8. Bunn arrived here by the Pearl last evening, but I bare not heard whether he proposes to hold divine serrice or not during bis stay. The Ber. W. E. Mulgan (of Katikati) has intimated that be will hold service here next Sunday, the 10th inst., being the first visit of the season.

The approaching County Council elec tion is the absorbing topic of conversation. Out of such a large field of candidates for the two seats to represent this Riding it is not easy to place the winners, although the general opinion is that the main struggle will be between Messrs Robson, Porter and Brown. It is probable that some of the other candidates will retire from the contest before the day of election, ai they will see that their persistency will not benefit themselres, and will simply give an outsider a chance by splitting up the votes. At a meeting of Mr Bobson's supporters, held last night at his store, the roll was very carefully gone through, and it was found that his success was almost a certainty. It is to be hoped that some of the other candidates will retire before the ballot papers are printed, as that will very materially improre his position. I understand that a number of gentlemen may be expected up from the Thames to record their rotes. /.•■■■■
