Steeplechase.— Betting: 6t04 on the field; the Agent for choice; Te Whetu scratched. The Agent, 1; Eyersley, 2; Ivanhoe, 3. This was a capital race over gorse and wooden fences; distance, three miles. Eversley had the race in his own hands half the way round, though closely pressed by The Agent with Ivanhoe a good third. Coming in at the last turn The Agent collared Eversley, who was quite done up, and won by seven or eight lengths; Ivanhoe a good third.
