The Cap race resulted as follows :— Calamia, 1; Tom Kirk, 2; Waxy, 3. Time: Three minutes, thirty-five seconds and three-quarters. Thirty horses ran. It was a good race. Melita and Firebell

were nowhere.

The weather was fine, and there was an immense attendance on the lawn, and on all parts of the course the attendance seemed larger than usual. The Governor and party were present.

Maiden Plate: Sussex, 1; Andorer, 2; Zambezi, 3. The race was won by a head. Time—Two minutes forty-three seconds and a quarter. A protest was lodged against Sussex in the Maiden race, and it was awarded to AndoTer.

Bail way Stakes : Vagabond, 1; Monarque, 2; Nerissa, 3. Won by half a head. Time — Two minutes twelre seconds.

Kensington Stakes: Gipsy, 1; Baroult, 2; Buccaneer, 3. Won easily. TimeOne minute eight seconds and three*

quarters

In the Cup race Eapidity led by a length and a-half, when Cajatnia came to the front and won by two lengths easily. Chester rau against a post and broke the jockey's leg.

Darling Stakes: Jack-o-Lantern, 1; Soothsayer, 2. Forty-three horses raj.
