So when Phillip came to ask her If she would be Mrs Bay, ' She believing she was widowed, Could not tay bar suitor " nay." And s second time was married, Gave up selling bread and cheese, And in due time Phillip nursed a Little Bay upon bis knees. But, alas! the long-lost Enoch Turned up unexpectedly, And was vastly disconcerted By this sot of bigamy. Yet reflecting on the subject, He determined to atone For his lengthened absence from her, By just leariag well alone. . Taking to bis bad he dwindled Down to something like a shade, Settled with his good landlady, Next, the debt of nature paid. Then, when both the Bays discovered How poor Enoch's life had ended, They came but in handsome style, and Gave his corpse a funeral splendid. .
