OTAKI.
Thursday, 10 a.m. "Wreck of the City of Auckland.
There is no danger of the City of Auckland breaking up. The Hinemoa arrived this morning, but before Captain Jenkins, the pilot and crew, could get down to launch a boat, she steamed away without communicating with the shore, 1 although there was less surf on to-day than yesterday. They have not got any provisions from the ship yet. The Maoris
have made presents to the immigrants of potatoes and sheep, and all the Europeans and natives are acting very kindly towards the immigrants and crew. The immigrants left for the Waikanae in bullock drays, iraps, and all sorts of conveyances, so ps to catch the Government steamer Hinemoa. The landing of the passengers has been effected with considerable expedition considering the circumstances, and without the slightest accident or disturbance.
