The grand jury h^d only one bill of indictment before it, agrinst a man named Thomas Clarkson, charged with an indecent assault on a female. The Court met at 10 o'clock, the Judge charged the jurors, they retired, speedily returned with a true bill, prisoner was placed in the dock, pleaded guilty, was sentenced to two years' imprisonment, and the Court rose. And, says the Colonist, "His Honor was on his way to Wellington about an hour after t'ae opening of the Court."
