"Fboh Florence," says an English paper, "comes the news of a terrible tragedy which has created a most painful impression in that town. It appears that Madame Zandenella, the wife of M. Bartolomeo Zandenella, professor of belleslettres, paid a visit to a Madame AngioUna Fineschi Bartali in order to request the cessation of improper intimacy existing between her husband and the latter. Madame Bartali's brother was present. Suddenly M. Zandenella, who had learned what was going on, entered the room. Seizing a revolver be fired a shot at Madame Bartali's brother, who fortunately evaded the ball by throwing himself on the floor. The infuriated professor then fired two shots at Madame Bartali, who fell down dead;. -All this took place in the presence of his wife, who reminded him, in vain, of his fire children. Turning the murderous weapon against himself,, he received a shot, and immediately fell down seriously injured. A terrible scene ensued. Madame Bartali's three children, her relatives, her maid servant, crying loudly, several persons entered the apartment, i severely ill treated the murdereiy and would have killed him but for the timely arrival of the police, who conducted him to the hospital."
