Monday, 10 a.m. One of the piers near the centre of the ordinary traffic bridge here went this morning at 9 o'clock, and' the platform dropped with a crash into the river. The wire rope is still holding, and no part of the platform near the piers, next to that gone, seems likely to go without a severe strain and weight.- * All communication by bridge is, of course, stopped. ;McNeiH's house, near the bridge, has gone since last night, several piers of the viaduct are loose, and one is out altogether. The Inch Clutha Church is still standing. No other buildings are away, and the river is still falling, and a small portion of the main street is now clear of water. The holes in the street at the post office have increased, and owing to the bunks of- silt neither boats nor horses can get to it safely.
