The V: building, was well 'filled', arid amongst * those present, I noticed the County Chairman (A. BrodieEsq.), Mr A. Aitken -(County Surveyor), and a number of •/Thames ladies and gentlemen, besides. ,'..' others from thp outlying districts of ,' L tVaitekauri, Owharoa, anc\ "Waitawheta. ..The Misses Clarke, Ferguson, and Nicholls, of the Thames, are worthy of especial mention, as they contributed greatly towards the success of the entertainment. The hall was well lighted and '. ■. was tastefully decorated with 'flags, ferns, &c. Mr .J. Phillips, Senr. took the chair, and a varied programme was gone throngb, after which the hall was cleared for dancing, which was kept ■ up with spirit until daylight this morning, refreshments being Served round at intervals. Messrs Christiansen and Ardern (of the Thames), assisted by Sergeant Russell at the piano, supplied the music. I must not omit to mention tfiat Mr Dewar (violin) and Mrs G. S. O'Halloran (piano) .gave some very nice selections at the concert Everything went off well, and the .weather has been. delightful for the exuurionists. ' '
