The Supreme Court Criminal Session opened this morning. In his charge to the. grand jury Judge Gillies said the calendar was exceptionally light —17 prisoners and 24 crimes. He referred to the increase of forgery. Wm.. Dougall for maliciously killing a calf, was sen* tenced to two years. The Diocesan Synod opened today. The bishop's speech referred to good progress of Church work.
