Naval Brigade Inspection.
The monthly inspection of this fine company took place at their drill-shed last evening. There were 149 men present, which is the strongest muster the company has yet had, and considering that the total strength is 165, and that six are in the sick list, very few were un-; necessarily absent from the parade. The band mustered 19 strong. In consequence of the large number of men present, two companies were formed, and were put through the manual and firing exercises. Major Murray, who waß inspecting officer, complimented the men on their steadiness and smart appearance. Captain Wildman then ordered a march out which took place, the company headed by the band proceeding as far as Mary street. On returning to the hall a meeting was held, at which several new members were proposed and the nominations for petty officership were closed, a large number being proposed. The drilling competition for these posts wUI take place shortly.
