At a meeting of the Harbor Board to-day the tender of Messrs Hawkins and Co. for the erection of the new wharf and breastwork was accepted for £10,879 11s lOd. The other tenders were: Langdown, £11,288; and Thomas H. Parsons, £11,676 5s 2d. < . At a meeting of the County Council to-day, that body resolved to take charge of Maivern Water Works. It was also resolved to take proceedings against several slaughterers who had not complied with the Act.
