County Council ■ '•■>- ~ *■• THAMES COUNTY COUNCIL. NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that at a Special Meeting of the said. Council, held on WEDNESDAY, the 25th day of Septamber, 1878, the said Council adopt'd the several resolutions following:— v | (a) That at this Special Meeting the Council of the Thames County do adopt a resolution, that the northern boundary of the Ohinemuri Riding, in the-Thames -County, be altered from its present site, so that it shall start from the% ocean on the East Coaet,' at a point on the proper right bank of the Otah'a Rirer, and thence extend up the said bank to the bead of the said river, thence in a straight line to the head of the nearest source of the Hikutaia River, thence down, the proper left bank of the said Hikutaia River to its junction with the Waihou River, thence in a line due west t© the boundary line between the Thames County pud the Waikato County. And, further, that the number of Ridings in the said County be increased from five to six, by the creation of a new Riding, to be called the Totara Riding; and that suoh new Riding be now. created, and that the Bite thereof shall be so much of the Hastings Riding, in the said County, as heretofore Misting, as is drained by the Kauaeranga River, and also so much of the said Ohinemuri Riding as heretofore existing, as will be taken out of the same Riding by the alteration of the boundary thereof hereinbefore; mentioned, and that the boundary of the said Hastings Biding shall be-so altered as to make it adjoin the Northern and Eastern boundaries of tke said Totara Riding. (5) That at this • Special Meeting the Thamrs County C'cuncil do adopt a resolution, that the number of Members of this Cou cil should'be nine, instead of s 'yen, as heretofore, and that thVniimber of Councillors /to be elected by the ' Electors of the Kauaeranga Riding, in the said County, shall be two inVead of one, and that the electors of the said T,otara Riding shall elect to that Counci'. one Member: ' • And, further, Notice is hereby given that on FRIDAY the Twenty-fifth Day of October, 1878, .at the hour of half-past two of the clock in the afterroon, a Meet? ing of the said Council will be held in the Thames County Council Chamber.
