THE SECRET OF FEMALE BEAUTY.
Dr. Cameron, of Dublin, lectured & week or two ago at the Zoological Gardens in that city, on the properties of food. This seems a gently dull subject in itself, but the ardent scientist branched off into n study of the importance of fat as an element of human food, and pronounced it a great beautifier of the human frame. He ascribed the beauty of the female form chiefly to the layer of fat under the skin ; an attribute which I have hitherto only looked upon as giving flavorto the turbot. If, however, Dr Cameron's layer of fat produces that delightful appearance of embonpoint which is a thing of beauty and a joy forever in so many of our fair countrywomen, then hurrah for the layer of fat, for no amount of what is called " mind " in the thinner and very bony individuals of the fair sex can quite atone for the abatement of the layer! If fat begets fat, Dr. Cameron's advice should not pass unheeded.
