Fatal Accident.

A bushman named Owen Jones, in the employ of Mr Maurice Casey, was killed to-day while felling a tree at Ohio creek, one of the tributaries of the Tararu. creek. From the rather scant particulars that have come in up to the time of going to press, it appears that Jones and his mate had finished cutting a large kauri, and the former was standing under a rata whilst the other Was wedging it over. The tree in falling fell on the rata, crushing the unfortunate man underneath and killing him. It took his mate several hours to extricate the body, and procuring . assistance he brought the body down to the Hoyal Hotel, Tararu, where it now lies.
