Wednesday; A meeting of Cornishmen was held last night, and a Committee formed to collect subscriptions for the purpose of making a New Zealand gift from Cornishmen in this colony for a new cathedral in Truro. A public meeting was held at Kawai last Monday evening when it was resolved that the best route for the railway from the east to the west coast was'via Waimarari and Taipo. Six America engines have arrived at Port Chalmers in the ship Southminster from New York for the Christchurch and Dunedin section of the railway.
