The following is the programme arranged for the Hutt races on the 6th and 7th February next. On the first day, Maiden Plate of 75 soys., Hurdle Eace of 50 soys., Wellington Gold Cop value 100 soys., with 5C3 soys. added, Hutt Park Stakes of 50 .soys., Flying Stakes of 50 soys. Second day:—Wellington Derby of IC3 soys., Hurdle Handicap of 75 soys., Eacing Club Handicap of 200 soys., Free Handicap of 50 soys., Empire Plate of ICO soys., Consolation Stakes of 50 soys.
Monday. ' A Gazette to be issued to-night will contain regulations altering the rates of postage. Any articles of. merchandise, raw or manufactured, not dangerous, may be sent by parcel post'; also seeds, cuttings, bulbs, or roots. The postage will be one penny per two ounces. Press manuscript intended for publication may be sent at book post rates. No book packet is to be sealed or otherwise closed against inspection. Legal documents may be sent by book post. These changes to come into force from the 14th instant.
