Colombo Accident Relief Fund.
A meeting of subscribers to the above fund was held at the Pacific Hotel last night to arrange for the distribution of the moneys collected. Present—Mr A. J. Allom (Chairman), Messrs E. W< Lowe, J. B. Mason, G. Reddish, F. AJ Pulleiae, E. F. Tizard and H. T. Rowe. \
The Chairman called upon the Treasu-j rer to read the balance sheet, as follows; which, on i themotion of Mr Mason, seconded by Mr Lowe, was adopted.— i

The Chairman handed in a statement showing that there are twelve subscription lists not yet returned, also a proposed scheme of distribution of the fund as agreed to at a meeting of the Committee held during the day, as follows :—Assuming that the amount to be • received from uncollected lists will cover existing liabilities, the sum to be distributed is about £100, inclusive of the amounts already disbursed. Say one. third, or about £33 to be divided thus:—Mrs De Thierry £11, Mrs Thrupp £11, Mrs Benny £11— each inclusive of money advanced. Then to divide the balance equally among the children of 13 years of age and under, to be administered as may be found desirable by trustees to be elected by the meeting. It was proposed by Mr Lowe, seconded by Mr Eeddish and carried—" That the funds in hand and any further funds that may be received be distributed >in accordance with the proposals of the Committee as read by the Chairman." , j 4 It was proposed by Mr Eeddish, and seconded by Mr Pulleine—" That Messrs E. W. Lowe and J. B. Mason* be trustees for the distribution of the fund from time to time as they may deem advisable in accordance with the foregoing resolution." —Carried.
On the motion of Mr Pulleine, seconded by Mr Eowe, it was resolvedl—" That the Treasurer be requested to pay the existing liabilities and to hand over' the balant c in his hands to the Trustees." Mr Eeddish proposed and Mr Mason seconded—" That Mr Allen receive-all outstanding lists and moneys during the absence of Mr Eowe." Carried. '
On the motion of Mr Eeddish, seconded by Mr Tizard, it was resolved—" That the subscription lists be published at such reasonable cost as may be sanctioned by Mr Allom." ' It 'was\ proposed by Mr Pulleine, secpnded by Mr Eowe, and carried— " That Messrs E. F. Tizard and D. E. Gellion be requested to act as auditors." It was proposed by,. Mr Tizard, and i seconded by Mr Lowe —"That a vote, of thanks be accorded to Mr H. T. Eowe ifor initiating ''ie fund and for the interest he has taken in' bringing the same to a successful issue."' Carried. -.1 ' A cordial vote of thanks, to the Chairman terminated the proceedings.
