Theatre Royal.

The public are to be congratulated on the fact that, owing to the enterprise of Mr De Lias, the above theatre is to be opened for a short season for the production of the legitimate drama. The initial performance takes place to-night, and the piece chosen is the tragedy of " Macbeth." In this Mr Gr. D. Chaplin appears, supported by perhaps the,, strongest company Mr De Lias has yet brought to the Thames.. Mr Chaplin has been most favorably noticed by the Colonial Press during a two years' tour, and the members of the company playing with him are well known to Thames audiences. We need not enlarge upon the merits of the com* pany, nor commend the piece. We feel confident play goers will experience. a treat.
